The Dead Next Door (1989) Coming to Blu-Ray and DVD

Tempe Entertainment is set to release a 2-disc Collector’s Edition of the cult classic zombie flick The Dead Next Door. The film is set to release on September 26th as the first release for Tempe Entertainment’s new Blu-ray label, Tempe Digital.

Included in the Collector’s Edition is the Blu-ray from the limited 3-disc Ultimate Edition, along with an all new DVD featuring a collectible slipcover and three new bonus features. The second disc will also include an all-new 2017 interview with actor Scott Spiegel (director of Intruder), as well as a 1999 tour of several locations that the film was shot in. For this Collector’s Edition, 4:3 and 16:9 1080p HD masters have been created from a 2K restoration using the original Super-8mm film elements. There will also be a 5.1 surround mix which will restore the voices of the original cast members for the first time ever.

Over 20 years before The Walking Dead made zombies mainstream on television, 19 year old director J.R. Bookwalter embarked on creating The Dead Next Door. The film focuses on an elite team of Zombie Squad soldiers who are fighting against hoards of the undead and the secretive religious cult hell-bent on protecting them.

The Dead Next Door 2-disc Collector’s Edition will be available September 26th. The Blu-ray/DVD set will be $29.95 and is available here as well as other retailers. About Matt Stumpf

My name's Matt, and I love all things horror. Books, movies, video games; you name it, I like it. Martyrs is my favorite horror film, and everyone should watch it. I also have a soft-spot for those cheesy 80's slashers. I'm still slightly convinced that Faces of Death is real.
