In 2002, we were told a story about a video, but it wasn’t an ordinary video. If you dare watched it you would get a call saying seven days. Seven days later she comes for you. Earlier in the week, a new poster was released for the film and today, January 5th, 2017, a second trailer has been released. Samara is back for vengeance in Rings. The film is long overdue as it has been twelve years since the second installment, The Ring Two. Rings takes place thirteen years after the events of The Ring. A young woman’s boyfriend (Alex Roe, The Fifth Wave) explores the origin of the video that kills the watcher seven days after viewing it.
In the second official trailer, the narrator is the creepy voice of the popular little girl Samara. In this new chapter of The Ring series, Julia (Matilda Lutz, Summertime) clicks on an email containing the video. She has seven days left to live, but she seems to have caught the eye of the vengeful little girl. Throughout the trailer, there are brief clips of each day. Julia is haunted by Samara, marked by the dead girl. With her being marked, it seems that there is more to the story, why does Samara take an interest in her?
F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall) directs the new chapter of The Ring saga. The film was set to be released October 28th, 2016, but was pushed back to avoid any competition with Ouija: Origin of Evil. Rings is set to be released theatrically February 3, 2017? Will you dare watch it?
