Forty years ago, we were introduced to a horror film classic in John Carpenter’s Halloween. We met Michael “The Shape” Myers, who returns to his hometown in Haddonfield, IL, after escaping Smith Grove Mental Hospital. The Night He Came Home became a Halloween night killing spree of babysitters, with one lone survivor, Laurie Strode. Now, forty years later, he returns to Haddonfield to finish the job.
Bloody-Disgusting has confirmed that the filming for the upcoming Halloween film has begun today! They also have confirmed who will be joining the cast.
According to Bloody-Disgusting:
Several rising young talents have joined the cast of Halloween, Bloody learned, including Virginia “Ginny” Gardner (Project Almanac, Marvel’s Runaways), Miles Robbins (Mozart in the Jungle, My Friend Dahmer), Dylan Arnold (Mudbound, Laggies, When We Rise), and Drew Scheid (Stranger Things, The War with Grandpa). They have all joined the cast playing school friends of Andi Matichak’s character, Allyson.
These rising young talents join Jamie Lee Curtis, who is returning as Laurie Strode. This sequel will disregard ALL previous sequels. Judy Greer will play Laurie’s daughter, Karen Strode, and Andi Matichak will play Laurie’s granddaughter, Allyson. Nick Castle will return to play The Shape along with stunt actor James Jude Courtney.
The film’s synopsis:
In David Gordon Green’s Halloween co-written by Danny McBride, Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
This is exciting news for us Michael Myers fans! Filming was delayed a bit, so the fact it has been confirmed filming is encouraging! We are all looking forward to hearing more about this film. John Carpenter will be composing the score, as well as executively producing and serving as film consultant. This is going to be big! Hopefully, we are getting an official trailer soon! Halloween (2018) is estimated to be released October 19th in theaters.
