Nerdist Presents: ‘Stranger In My Town’ Music Video Tribute

Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things has captivated audiences for two seasons now. The reasons? The show captures a lot of classic sci-fi elements, nostalgic eighties music and pop culture and has characters with relationships that are reminscient of Stephen King.  Nerdist latest video release is a tribute to the Stranger Things and the ’80s music video. Aptly titled “Stranger In My Town“.

Just in case you missed it, the official synopsis of the Stranger Things:

In a small town where everyone knows everyone, a peculiar incident starts a chain of events that leads to the disappearance of a child – which begins to tear at the fabric of an otherwise peaceful community. Dark government agencies and seemingly malevolent supernatural forces converge on the town while a few locals begin to understand that there’s more going on than meets the eye

“Stranger In My Town” is a video with some amazing special effects. It is a cheesy tune that is catchy and to top it off the video looks and feels like it is from the eighties MTV. You know,  back when MTV played music videos? Here it is! Get ready for a Demogorgon playing saxophone!

“Stranger In My Town”

There are many eighties music nods in this video! Some Flock of Seagulls, Michael Jackson, Men Without Hats, A-ha and I am sure many others that I haven’t caught yet. Along with the eighties music, it embraces all the wonders of what we adore about Stranger Things. So now, I’m not sure about you, but I’m off to visit Hawkins, Indiana again! Don’t forget to subscribe to Nerdist for more videos here.
